Getting to the Market
Moss Street Market is held every Saturday in the beautiful Fairfield community of Victoria, BC, operating on Sir James Douglas school grounds, surrounding Moss Street and Thurlow Road boulevards and abutting Porter Park. We gratefully acknowledge that we live, work, and play on the traditional unceded lands of the Lekwungen peoples of the Esquimalt & Songhees Nations.
Walk, Ride or Bus to the Market!
Parking around the market is limited. Consider walking, biking, or taking the bus to the market. The #7 bus comes right to the market, while the #11, #14, #3 will take you within a 10-minute walk of the market. See BC Transit’s website for details.
Additional Visitor Details
Accessibility at the Market
The Moss Street Market site and washroom facilities are wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Purchasing at the Market
Most vendors accept credit cards or debit, but not all. There is no ATM at the market.
Dogs at the Market
We are pleased to allow dogs (on leash) throughout the outdoor portions of our market.
Waste at the Market
In the spirit of sustainability and eco-mindedness, many of our vendors do not offer plastic bags to customers (and many more are moving to no disposables at their stalls). At the end of each market day, our market staff sort through the bins to separate the compostables, recyclables and disposable waste. It’s a big job that has a significant impact. Market visitors can help by putting waste into the proper containers and taking recyclables and disposables home – or avoiding them in the first place. Please remember to bring your own reusable bags or baskets on market day.
Washrooms
Regular Season: Washrooms are located on the lower level of the Fairfield Gonzales Community Association “The Place” building. Access from the back of the building.
Winter Market: In the Garry Oak Room entrance and Sir James Douglas school hallway.
