Craft Vending
General information for new craft vendors
Moss Street Market is blessed with many wonderful vendors of all types. We currently have our quota, however, of pottery, woodwork, beeswax candles, beaded jewelry, cards, soaps, botanicals or body products, t-shirts and glass works, so we can no longer accept them for 2008. We apologize to those of you in these categories who wanted to become vendors this season. Please check back here for updated lists.
PLACE: Sir James Douglas school - Corner of Moss St and Fairfield Rd
DATES: First Saturday in May to mid-October 2007 (with two half markets, 10-noon, in April and two in October that feature our farmers)
TIME: Every Saturday, 10am - 2pm
FEES:
$15 per Saturday for a regular spot.
$20 per Saturday for a corner spot.
$25 mandatory membership fee is for the first season, first week free with purchase
$370 annual fee for a reserved space, membership included (corner spots $485)
The daily fee rents you a 10X10 ft space. Vendors are responsible for providing their own display, tables, chairs, canopy, etc.
SETTING UP: First come, first served. You may mark a non-reserved space (by placing something on it and letting a coordinator know) AFTER the coordinators have marked out all the spaces in the Market (usually by 7:45 am). But please do not start setting up before 8:00 am (out of respect for our neighbours). Spaces fill up quickly in June and July so best to come early. You must arrive no later than 9:30 and be completely set up by 10:00 am.
PARKING: There are a limited number of parking spaces, so please arrange for drop-off or park as far away from the Market as possible. Vendors can park on Thurlow PAST the entrance to the parking lot or on other side streets. Please do not park close to the Market or in the Parking Lot (The more parking spaces you leave for customers the more chance you have of sales.
MORE INFO: Please refer to the Policy Manual (Section 5)
REVIEWS:
All new vendors must be reviewed by a member of the craft committee. Everything at the market must be handmade and sold by you, preferably using local and organic products. During the season the reviews will be held every third Saturday at 2:30 at the Market site. No need to book an appointment, just bring samples of everything you would like to sell and we will see you there. If you have more questions please feel free to contact us via email or phone 361-1747 (We will respond as quickly as possible, but please be patient -- the market is volunteer-based.) Please note that the caps on certain products listed above still apply.
