Monthly Archives: September 2010

This Saturday, September 18th is Green Technology Day at the Market!

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to speak with local businesses, non-profits and farmers about greener ways of living.   From solar thermal heating and carsharing to humanure toilets and good old manual labour, we’re hoping that you’ll leave this day with some practical ideas for leading a more sustainable lifestyle.

Along with the great produce, local crafts and delicious food, you’ll find these organizations at the market this Saturday:

Green Energy Working Group, Transition Victoria

The Victoria Car Share Co-op

Greater Victoria Water Watch Coalition

Integreen.ca

The Land Conservancy of BC

The BC Sustainable Energy Association

The Greater Victoria Cycling Coalition

Illuminate Solar

Western Canada Wilderness Committee

PLUS  MUSIC BY MUFARO MARIMBA AND JACK DE BOECK and FREE CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES!

Bike to the market and you’ll be entered in a draw to win a gift certificate from the Fairfield Bicycle Shop.  After the market, don’t forget to stop by EarthDance, which will be happening until 6pm on the field behind Sir James Douglas School.

Last Craft Review of the Season

The craft review committee will be holding the last craft review of the season September 18, 2010.     Crafters who want to vend for the last month of the market please meet at the flag pole at 2:30 pm.   All crafters will be reviewed with priority  given to crafts not already  represented at the market.    Successfully reviewed crafters who attend 3 markets in October will be eligible to vend at the MSM for the 2011 season.  For more information on craft vending please click on the Sell at the Market menu item at the top of the page.
