Shantael comes to us with a wealth of organizational, event coordinating and staff supervision skills from her years as a Community Recreation Coordinator with Community and Neighborhood Services in Calgary, Alberta. In her own words, “I am drawn to the Moss Street Market Coordinator Position for the overarching commitment to environmental and community responsibility and sustainability practices.”
I doesn’t hurt that Shantael has taken a variety of courses in a Conflict Management Program with an emphasis on Alternatives in Dispute Resolution and Critical Skills for Communication in Conflict. Of course, she won’t be needing those skills at the Moss Street Market because as every vendor knows: there is never a disagreement.
Shantael is a practicing visual artist and has exhibited in various public and private art exhibitions across Canada. She has worked as a vendor in two of Alberta’s Farmers Markets supporting the efforts of a local organic farm and on creating and selling her own silver wire jewelry.
Shantael brings an artists sensibility and the skills of an exceptionally well organized manager to the role of Moss Street Market Coordinator and we feel very lucky that she has agreed to join us this year.
